The Section on Pediatrics of the American Physical Therapy Association is pleased to invite you to our 3rd Annual Conference.

The goal of the Section on Pediatrics Annual Conference (SoPAC) is to bring together pediatric physical therapists together from across the country and around the globe to provide a forum for pediatric therapists from all areas of practice (academia, research, clinical, school-based, and hospital settings) to unite once per year to advance the practice of pediatric physical therapy, exchange ideas related to practice and research, and provide participants professional development networking opportunities.

  • Founder's Reception: The Section will be hosting the Founders Reception & 40th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, November 9, 2013, from 6:30-8:30 pm, as part of your SoPAC registration. The evening will include a recognition ceremony, 1970s music, a buffet dinner (included with the cost of your conference registration), a special Disney character visit, and a silent auction to benefit the "Buy Back the Journal Title" campaign. After the reception, you are invited to join your colleagues for a private viewing of the 10:15 pm World of Color Show at California Adventure. Disney staff will walk our group to our own viewing area for this spectacular show. This optional event will cost $20 and is available to the first 320 registrants.   • Special Offer for Occupational Therapists: Many SoPAC sessions are appropriate for pediatric OTs as well as PTs. Click here to see the suggested education track for OTs for SoPAC 2013 (although of course you can tailor your experience however you wish). As an added incentive, AOTA members will receive the same discount as Section members and WCPT members!
    AOTA has confirmed approval of Section on Pediatrics, American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as an AOTA Approved Single Course Provider of continuing education. Section on Pediatrics, American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is authorized to assign 1.9 CEUs for the main conference; 1.4 CEUs for the 2-day precon; .4 CEUs for the ½ day precon AOTA CEUs for "Section on Pediatrics Annual Conference (SoPAC)" on November 8-10, 2013 (with optional preconference courses on November 6-7). The assignment of AOTA CEUs does not imply endorsement of specific course content, products, or clinical procedures by AOTA.

  • IL EI Credentialing: The Section on Pediatrics has submitted a list of sessions for review by the Illinois Early Intervention Credentialing Program. The Section will make the SoPAC registration and attendance rosters available to the IL EI Credentialing Program to corroborate credit. It is the responsibility of the individual to provide Proof of Attendance or Completion of this activity to the IL EI Credentialing Program after SoPAC. Attendees will need to verify attendance at specific sessions by having their onsite program book stamped as they exit each session.
